LUCfest music festival will be held on November 8th-10th in Tainan this
year. Applications to perform at 2019 LUCfest are now open. All genres
are welcome and LUCfest invites all kinds of bands and artists to submit
their applications! The official online application is open from now
until Monday, July 15th.
Since
2017, LUCfest has brought many artists to Taiwan to showcase their
talents at the music festival. The festival is committed to bringing the
most talented artists to the world stage. Last year, more than 40
internationally renowned music industry professionals, including
festival programmers, booking agencies, labels, and media, were invited
to join the festival from a combined 3 continents and 18 countries. This
has made LUCfest an international music event that emerging artists
from Taiwan and all over the world should never miss!
After
two years of experience, LUCfest has established a streamlined process
to introduce Asian bands to Asia and beyond. Every year, there are
alumni artists from LUCfest that open the opportunities of international
tours, such as Phum Viphurit, who first appeared at LUCfest back in
2017 as his first show abroad. The Fur, a Taiwanese dream-pop band,
after performing at LUCfest started their first European tour and
traveled through the UK, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and were also
invited by LUCfest’s media partner – Cat Radio, Thai’s most influential
radio channel, to perform at the Cat Expo music festival in Bangkok.
Moreover,
other Asian bands like ADOY, The White Eyes, 88 Balaz, SEN, WWWW/
Prairie, Manic Sheep, L8Ching, and FragileGirls were all discovered by
global industry professionals at LUCfest. LUCfest has helped kickstart
their new chapter of overseas performances.
As
of now, LUCfest has headlined around 41 foreign performances from all
over the world for Asian artists, which proves the importance and
success of the festival.
“LUCfest
is different from typical music festivals,” said by organizers. “We
create interaction through artists performances, music conferences, and
exclusive after parties, which encourages a friendly and chill social
channel between artists and industry professionals, which promotes
continuous influence. Not only does this offer bands an opportunity to
perform, but even a better, a chance to directly enter the international
music market. Last year, a total of 529 artists applied online in just
two weeks, and 30% of them were from foreign countries, which shows that
the international reputation and popularity of LUCfest is on the rise.”
